On Saturday morning, Rachel and her husband Arieh woke up to a lot of noise outside. They did not hear and or receive any red alerts. They realised there was shooting and decided to go and pick up their son. When Arieh saw terrorists outside the fence, they immediately went into their safe room together with their daughter. There they stayed for hours in pitch black, with barely any reception, and the constant terrifying noises of shooting right outside. At one point they spoke to their son while he was being shot at, and were informed their other son’s room had been entered by Hamas. They stayed in their safe room until around 9pm when they received a message the army were coming.
