On Saturday, the red alert sounded at 6:30. Julian grabbed his little dog expecting to be just ten minutes in the shelter. He calls Carol, but there’s no answer. He reads on his phone there are terrorists in people’s houses and hears his door broken open, and people speaking in Arabic. He holds onto the door handle of the safe room; someone on the other side is trying to open it, banging on the door with his rifle and shouting. They leave, coming back later to steal. At 15:30 the army rescues him and that’s when he discovers Carol, her dog, her son and his wife and their children have been murdered in their homes.
